The Ultra Paws® Dogs
You’ll see photographs of our dogs throughout the Web site. Each one, like children, has a unique personality and an interesting story:
Beau – Beau crawled into our sister-in-law’s yard, terrified with matted hair and bloody paws. She spent days getting the dog to come – leaving food outside to entice him near the house. He finally warmed up and she nursed him back to health, advertising for his owners who never claimed him. Beau has become our courageous guard dog, always on the alert with his Australian Shepherd breeding. He has a kind heart but is still very nervous in new situations, even after four years with us. |
Eddie – Eddie is from Marsch Kennels in Wisconsin, a kennel of winning spring racing dogs. His parents are Flo and Eddie, and he loves to run and is very fast. He is the most gentle giant, but put him in a harness and watch out!
He was raised with our family and loves people. He isn't a house dog - we tried and it didn't work - he prefers the kennel life and companionship of other sled dogs. When Grey passed away (you'll see him in photos with Eddie in the X-Back harness pages) Eddie needed another dog to work with - he is a follower, not a leader - so Eddie has found a new home with a family in central Minnesota.

Maggie – Very much the traditional lap dog, the sole female in our dog family rules the roost with both our canine and human family. She’s an overactive tom boy and loves to chase anything that moves. |
Roscoe – We’re not quite sure what breed Roscoe is, although it’s obvious he has German Shepherd bloodlines. Our daughter found him abandoned in a ditch when he was only about 6 weeks old. We tried not to become attached to him, but it became apparent that he was destined to be part of our family. He was recently diagnosed with a very rare auto-immune disease and we’re closely monitoring his health. He's our best photo model! |
