Dog Collar FAQs
My dog pulls out of its collar when we’re walking.
What do you recommend?
The Semi-Choke Collar is your best bet because if your dog tries to back out of it, the collar will tighten and prevent the dog from escaping. Try the Control package of the Ultra Paws Walking Harness, semi-choke collar and double leash for ultimate control.
What is a humane choke collar?
A humane choke collar tightens only as much as you allow it to. It does not have unlimited choking capability and it protects the dog’s throat from compression-type injuries.
What type of collar should I use to stake out my dog?
The Mature Dog Collar works very well. If the dog tries to pull the collar off, the O-ring rolls, making it difficult to escape. Our dog Eddie is an Alaskan Husky with Greyhound and Whippet breeding. The size of his neck and head are similar, and we’ve found that two Mature Dog Collars is the only thing that works for him. We attach his tie-out to the bottom of the O-ring on the bottom collar and he has never pulled out of it yet – although he sure tries!
What kind of collar should I use for my hunting collar?
For hunting dogs, you want a collar that won’t catch on brush or debris and has an accessible and large ring that allows you to quickly attach your lead. We recommend the No Catch Collar. |
